    That's the remarkable thing about guns in the US. The right wing was the progenitor of the modern gun control movement, post-black panthers. It's always been their demand, because they've always known their white conservative base has a way better chance of passing those checks than someone who's frisked by the cops once a week.

      I wouldn't be surprised if the right-wing will pivot, without a hint of irony, to gun control the exact moment the SRA and other leftist gun groups outnumber the far-right militias. Not even nationwide, just locally, state by state.

      It's an indictment of the sad state of arming leftists in the US that there's no example of right-wingers getting nervous since the BPP.

        True, but also, most of the armed leftists are rural and white.

        This means that, while there are profound discursive political differences between the chuds and many armed leftists, they still are perceived by said chuds as not an existential threat the way that urban black maoists are.
