I get $400/week, but I'm in the minority and will probably be absolutely fucked with taxes.

Yeah, UI. I was only getting $160/week up until Biden. There was a 2 month gap too. Got $760/week from March to August from the Bernie thing. Biden extended the UI benefits for another couple months with a +300/week bonus, but they've been kicking people off like crazy.

My girlfriend got booted off randomly like 3 months ago and they basically told her to kick rocks when she asked why. I'm just super lucky to have been getting benefits since March. I'm convinced that they'll throw me in prison soon though trying to claim fraud or something. I don't know.

Don't we all pay into unemployment through our paychecks? It's not like it's just free money like these right wing fucks make it out to be

Yep, the extended benefits are from the federal government, but UI is paid for by the workers directly in the form of state income/payroll tax.

Doesn't stop the reactionaries and government from thinking anyone drawing when a small amount of their own investment into the system back out is a leech that needs to be stopped. They'll go after you for fraud if you fuck up. They'll kick you off if a former employer decides to retaliate and say you don't deserve it.
