... and it is imperative that we follow exactly the subset of them that allows us to do absolutely nothing to improve people's material conditions!

I’ve never even heard of a senate parliamentarian before this. How come republicans never needed one to ram their bullshit through? Dems are so weak and spineless lol, they make up any excuse to be ghouls. At least republicans own that shit

I’m actually now imagining an ouroboros of politicians modeling themselves on absurd literary depictions of bureaucracy and then writers creating even more absurd depictions of the politicians :sicko-jpeg:

Almost certain the Dems asked the Parliamentarian to do this so they could deflect from being ghouls themselves.

I need someone to explain to me what all this bullshit is all about.

Actually on second thought please don't, I really don't have the energy or capacity to understand.

They could increase the minimum wage if they wanted to.

      They don't want to.

      That's it.

I meant specifically the liberal take just to try to understand their logic. But my brain hurts today so I'm opting to not deeply understand this one thing and just go with what you said, which ultimately will be my conclusion no matter how much I look into it lol

There is some unelected rules nerd that disagreed. Libs being obsessed with how things are a meritocracy believe that the rules nerd has to be correct.

The dems could easily overrule it if they wanted to.

Nothing gets liberals more horny than congressional gridlock. Like it doesn't even matter if it's for a terrible reason - they fucking love it because it's how politics work, and congresspersons from each side walking around importantly with important pieces of paper in their hands are doing important things and trying their hardest to meet in the middle or something.

Fucking pieces of shit, these liberals. I was thinking about this recent garbage about a COVID memorial, and I'm convinced that liberals also get horny over national tragedies because it becomes part of the fabric of this nation, and shows just how great America is in having thousands of people die, but eventually getting past it. Then we can get together and worship a fucking memorial instead of learning from our mistakes.

This was posted on here recently in case you didn't see it already, a perfect encapsulation of the liberal attitude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjfrJzdx7DA
