Unfortunately significant portion of my friends seem to think that saying racist, sexist, fascist things and laughing is funny and quantifies as a joke. Basically how do you get shithead white suburb kids to care about struggles of people and not play that off as a joke?
I have a lot of dark humor. Gallows humor I picked up hard in the army. I’m matured to the point now where I know it is “appropriate”. People who I am comfortable making those types of jokes know very well my political views and my stance on race, trans comrades, etc.
If you are offended I think it’s perfectly okay to be like “woah man, that’s pretty racist.” Or what have you. Other comrades have very good answers here. But I did want to be up front about my own humor.
