It's stand alone, free, and full as fuck of STALKERy goodness. You can be a bandit! You can be in the Monolith! There's also a thriving mod scene just for it. If you've never run for your life through an anomaly field in the middle of a storm while zombies and Monolith are gunning for you, you've never lived.
It's necessary for human health and life, namely yours. Play it. Vrag Monolita.
I've been streaming Anomaly a lot lately, it's so good you can get lost in it for hours and the adrenaline rush it gives you is really unique amongst modern titles. Makes me nervous for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
It can be. Enemy AI can be unfairly accurate on the move and while stationary and they can see through visual cover while you can't. The game itself is just kind of unforgiving and bullets really hurt. I don't want to shit talk it though because once you get the hang of it the game is an incredibly rewarding experience. I have never been as scared while playing a game, or anxious. I've never had experiences as intense as they can be in STALKER and I play a lot of competitive games. I've never been as sucked into a game before or since.
There’s an insane number of options you can change that affect the gameplay / progression difficulty, so really it can easy or as hard as you want it
Imagine not signing up with the Red Army. I mean Duty.
We don’t see much of their politics but their aesthetic is definitely supposed to evoke Soviet vibes.
“Fascist” in that they’re a paramilitary organization that wants to destroy the zone and everything in it, not exploit the zone for profit. They’re just aUtHoRiTaRiAn as all effective militaries are.
If anything the mercs are the worst since they’re in the zone for “western interests” I’d imagine corporations would try to patent literal alien technology lol
