4years ago I discovered Sabaton and they were ~the only band I used to listen to. Having lyrics that arent the typical love stories made a difference. They seem to be a rather rare mix of history and power metal (I think I tend to be attracted by "angry/powerful" music.) Plus, it made me even more interested in history. In ~1-2years I had listened to ~all their discography and even went to their concert (my first one🙃). Ever since I found many other bands and artists from various genres (with also the help of a friend) so my Sabaton intake has decreased (currently trying to find communist/anarchist greek rap, I have found at least one ~good band).

But, ughh, they have some bad songs, in a bad way. Soldier of 3 armies, ghost division, back in control and some others would probably be better if they didnt make them (they also seem to be a bit too proud of their Swedish history which I find kinda alarming). I kiiiinda get their excitement over powerful people and machines (even if I ~don't get excited about it), but they could choose something else to sing about. They tend to be "neutral", but they are the ones who choose the topics for each song.

On the other hand, in bismark, rise of evil, final solution etc. I find them to paint the nazis negatively which keep me from saying that they are nazis. I also really like all their anti-war/religion songs.

I'd like to see a kinda "leftist" version of them. I have a feeling that either they lean to the right or they don't want to voice any leftist opinions because they might lose a big part of their audience (I happen to know people who listen to them a lot and some have very strong leftist and others have right wing (even neo-nazi..) opinions). They give me some mixed signals with the songs they produce.

I try to keep their good stuff, but I keep having mixed feelings (especially if I am to go to another concert of theirs).

And sabaton have made a song about this guy, come on Sabaton..😞 I refuse to like this song (it's not even good), but come on guys, was it necessary to write this, at least in such a way?..

In some countries it's even mandatory (like in Bulgaria)

I'm too having some issues in general.

I don't know if it's my app (Thunder on android), but all operations seem slow (I think it used to be faster, changing to guest from another instance ~everything is faster). Even saving this post resulted in a timeout.

I'll report my main issues:

• My profile page and inbox take about 5seconds to load and sometimes they load indefinetly

• Opening any post takes about 3seconds to load

• Saving any image takes around 5seconds to load

Is this the experience for the rest as well? I'd like to know if it's just me or that mander is slow. I'm not angry or something, just reporting stuff to let the owners and users know. If it could be fixed, it would be nice. If it's an infrastructure issue, well I get it.

As long as you set Load remote content to never😅 (I think when this is turned on it loads stuff like images and such from wikipedia etc. which take unecessary cache space, so I leave it off).

About the english wiktionary, oi.. it's huge (for comparison, the greek one is ~200mb).

I don't know if there's a less complex version available anywhere.. Maybe try creating an issue on aard2 github page. They seem to be active in general (btw, they also run an ftp server where they store ~all the dictionaries you see on github of multiple verions.) Also take a look here on the other projects, maybe you'll find something useful (I'm taking a look at it now).

As an extra topic, have you managed to convert wordnet dictionaries to .slob from pyglossary? I have found some ancient tools on github, but never made it (possibly you need to code some stuff).

What language do you want?

You have to download the dictionary (I'd suggest both wordnet and wiktionary, they have a page with links to each type of dictionary here), put them in a specific directory, open aard2 and add them to the list of dictionaries.

One of the best apps out there. (Helps me a lot since I don't use auto-correct/auto-suggestion and I try to read books in English.)

I use the English wordnet and the Greek wiktionary provided by their github page.

It's good for 4 uses:

1. Translating words (whatever language to greek with wiktionary)

2. Explaining words (english to english with wordnet or greek to greek wit wiktionary)

3. Cheking the conjugation of various words (with wiktionary)

4. Helping me with spelling for words I have hard time (using both wordnet and wiktionary)

The fact that it is online makes it much much faster than anything else. (In the past I would search them on ddgo and it would take time.)

A simple trick would be to stop the wars

This is something, but:

The fragmentation of the left ~must have helped a lot...

The main left opposition party kinda split in 3 different parties (one big and 2 small) and had already split before (one big and one tiny).

I can't really call it much of a win as there is a big increase in the far right (the are three far right parties which in total have around 15% (one has ~10%, the rest are smaller)..

It is something, but I think it's far from enough..

Also the same kke party (named pks in the unis) in our universities lost a lot of votes this year, but at least it's still the top one (in our universities we have elections yearly too).

Im too using gimp (even made a small tutorial for some folks) and okular ob my win10 laptop. Almost all of my laptop runs on open source programs (probably apart from some one or two pirated games). I'll probably fully switch to debian next year.😅

I havent played much with discogs, it seems to have more complete info about songs, but I think I had some trouble finding some of my tracks. For manual genre tagging, I tend to resort to genius which too has a lot of info.

Indeed, I could easily do that if I had enough time. I kinda like organizing stuff and such.

Indeed! Deemix also gets tags that OneTagger currently doesnt fetch (Composer, Label, Author etc.).

Genre (along with lyrics) are the tags that probably need most of the work. And because in OneTagger I'm using 3different platofroms (plus whatever deemix got) to fetch the genre tag, it can be a mess. Each platform may categorize songs differently and many times the program wont find a match for all platforms. I have to manually edit them all or create a bunch of different actions to automate this.

You can keep tagging files ~forever and still not have them perfect.. I just stop after when I think it's good enough and I might start tagging them again at another time.

Hahaha I think I'm guilty of the charges, I tend to make huge posts (esecially when I want to avoid my responsibilities or I am in the mood)🫣

Hahaha, I ~just came after a search using g**gle due to ddgo being down, I noticed the "web" search is no longer the default (as it was discussed some days ago here).

Google seems to have a huge grip on people and they don't seem to notice (or act against) the terrible services of google search..

Simple, include sd cards on phones and use usb 3.0 or higher..

(I say that as I am about to wipe my device with ~200gb data and then import them back again through wifi hotspot because wired transfer is slower than wireless and it doesnt have an sd card slot...)
