  • some people are mad it goes through protected green areas, and at points it also goes through peoples houses that need to b demolished. which like, both are touchy points. protecting green spaces is good, but sometimes you do need new infrastructure especially stuff that lets us cut down on cars which obviously do the most to take up green spaces with massive fuck off roads. and the housing thing is like there are times and places like Robert Moses who tore down poor and PoC neighbourhoods for freeways but also some times you can't just completely paralyse infrastructure development because of housing, it's about who is being effected and how, and then how we should recompensate those people

  • federations is pretty good, it fleshes out federations as the name suggests which do shape a lot of the galactic politics in the mid to late game. the story packs are neat in they add fun event chains and stuff but only worth picking up on sale imo. nemesis is very fun in it lets you become the endgame crisis and centralise power in the galactic senate to stop the crisis too, but idk if I would call that vital. apocalypse is another that's eh in that you get new mega ships and planet crackers but it's not vital content. megacorps is honestly kinda annoying as crime empires can set up shop on your planets and cause so much issues that you need to focus on squashing, and as a communist I never have had the desire to play a megacorp empire

  • my dad keeps getting really fucking annoying about me spending my fucking money helping homeless people. I go to work for 8 hours plus lunch every day for 5 days a week, I pay my rent to him on time, and I'll spend my fucking money how I fucking like. "oh but the economy is so bad right now, you should be wiser with it, we might need that" bruv if it comes down to that, then obvious I will cut back how much I spend, but it being so hard right now means people need more shit. like I just hate this kind of hording mentality that we might need it, so you can't give it away
