  • This was two posts down from a very funny video showing that you can get any result from a poll. Before I even read the numbers I was like "People, government, and violence-enacting groups are not the same" ie I can relate to (sympathize with) being a citizen of an occupying regime, even to being part of the occupying force, without agreeing with the overall agenda of the regime in charge. Maybe I'm empathizing instead of sympathizing, but I see most people who take polls on a CBS site (another obvious flaw here) will also sympathize (or empathize) that direction.

Then I read the numbers. They are abysmal. Still, I'd like to see a poll that is more fairly worded. A poll that constructs the opposite perspective in its audience would be amusing too.

  • I guess I'm not online enough to see the problematic posts or comments, or the mods here are really Johnny-on-the-spot. So I have very little experience of any claims made here. The only time I found toxic content was in a dog sub, and the majority there was harshly against the breed currently begging me for belly rubs.

That was a tangent. But yeah, I haven't ever seen the fascists, but there are many possible reasons for that.

  • Cops: *go on strike*

    Nothing: *changes*

Bourgeois: "Give them everything they ask for or society will collapse!"

Yeah, police are the enforcement tools of the owner class, designated extra privileges to give them the impression that they're somehow distinct from the proletariat. They'd have too much power even without unions. Listen to politicians who urge corrupt cops to stay on payroll because of literally getting the "rotten apple" metaphor backwards. I'm not really sure how you can judge some unions good or bad, when ACAB is a fact. Just, get rid of the police and leave this hypothetical to historians.

  • Response above mine says otherwise, but my point was that you can look at any time period and find some grumpy adult saying when they were children they were respectful, unlike kids these days! I read somewhere that one of the oldest pieces of writing was lamenting how lazy people are now that they can write things down instead of having to memorize everything.

  • According to the inventors of sin, sin is a crime or offense against God. If there is no deity, sin is impossible to commit. Also, they say all sin is equal: you are equally condemned for committing murder or for looking at someone lustfully. So this question, as worded, is deceptively hard to answer.

If you're asking "what's the most awesome thing you've done that people would consider a sin" well, I'd probably add to the list of people who answered with atheism, as questioning and searching for the truth is taboo in Abrahamic societies.

If you're asking "what's the most awful thing you've done?" Well, it might be somewhat tame, but I wake up in a cold sweat sometimes when I think about it. Imagine a 13-year-old kid confident of having the answers to someone's questions, when a life is on the line.
