  • Here in Italy, unlike in Germany, criminals from the regime were never prosecuted nor underwent trial and condemnation (unlike, say, Nuremberg trials). Because this would have made left parties stronger and, in the 50s this means the Communist party, which the Americans didn't want at all. Here is the result, well done allies! History repeats itself so that people can learn unlearned lessons better, like not passing an exam.

  • I agree 100% I am European so probably I should stfu about US politics but since here we are living a similar situation with libs supporting genocide and far-right crackheads promising all kind of things (outlawing homosexuality, expelling all immigrants, ban disabled people from classrooms, etc.) I think that experiencing the "worst" is useful to awaken consciences and, moreover, I am so resigned I do not even thing the "worst" can be avoided at this point. People just vote for them.

Yes it is! The video is even too optimistic (in the end especially) and doesn't consider that the tendency to "disengage" from US/NATO politics is going to be abruptly stopped by those who will win 2024 elections.

Just a reminder: the EU is doomed, not the European continent. Europe != EU.

  • The party is called "Fratelli d'Italia" (lit. "brothers of Italy") so no one is surprised the President's brother-in-law is a Minister too. 😂

What is happening against journalists, writers, magistrates and anyone who tries to express criticism "in the name of public safety" is interesting because it would not be normally acceptable under normal conditions in a western democracy.

Unfortunately, the seeds of this started before the current alt-right government. It's shocking that they are systematically being used now for political reasons but once there is a crack in the system it's normal someone will try to exploit it to their own benefit.
