  • I love a good slight tapered sword, especially the Hussar/Cossack szabla and Polish karabela.

The Soviets inherited the sabre style so there's NKVD shashka's with the Red Star or Hammer and Sickle on the hilt, if I was a bigger nerd that would be a cool replica.

Typically to finish off an animal which had be downed by a quarrel or pellet, in immediate defence in a pinch from boars or other ornery critters, fashion, a deterrent against brigands, and if need be to clear brush like a machete.

The hunting sword, often favoured by peasantry and outlaws, evolved into the cutlass style we associate with pirates. In German they were called hangers or messers.

  • The association atheism had with Marxism was because Marx was an atheist and associated atheism with himself.

This association was continued by Lenin who associated atheism with Marxism-Leninism by also being an atheist and associating atheism with himself.

Maoism has an association with atheism because... Drum roll, you guessed it, Mao was an atheist and associated atheism with himself.

This concludes my TED Talk on: Why Marxism Atheism?

If you want the longer version as to why the material conditions of Industrial Europe, the Tsarist Russian Empire, and pre-revolutionary China were such that atheism and Marxism became inextricably linked, you'll have to read the figures themselves for the answer!

  • As someone in two types of therapy right now, one for gaining distress and crisis "skills", one for unpacking all the mental/personal/social/developmental roadblocks, it does sometime feel like I'm working on just clearing up my moods and disruptive patterns to accommodate capital and be a better * contributor*, while also acknowledging the reality of mental illness and therapies varying but generally positive impact on what exists independently of capitalism. While at the same time capitalism itself can and does engender and accelerate mental illness in inherently and deliberately dehumanizing conditions

A lil Foucault, a lil early Marx. I I get it

  • "Lone wolf terror attacks" by 'anacho-socialists' what the fuck do they think it is, 1911? The few examples of such like torching a cop car are immediately blown up by the media with glee, there is a quantitative degree of frequency, intensity and notoriety for right-wing domestic terror attacks. That the left is capable of organizing a small committee meeting without collapsing into theoretical or bureaucratic impasse, let alone organizing militias is some positive thinking on the feds' part.

The organizing construction of what the threat is here doesn't need to be based in any information or factual practice, it's an ideological structure which supersedes material truth. Evidence and motive will be planted, actual information or data obtained will be carefully selected to produce a picture of what they want to see, since they control the flow of information and what is accessible they dictate the entire grounds on which the organization or people will be viewed. They've determined the goal of what they want to find ex-ante, guided by what they believe will lead to the most favourable means of disruption and prosecution. It doesn't matter whether they sincerely believe it or just act like they do, because the structure and result is the same.
