IMO this is within Labour’s grasp, it’s in the range of their recent by-election wins and given it was Skidmore who took it from them, one has to speculate that a local MP of nearly 20 years, standing down in protest of the government, isn’t going to encourage the party faithful out to vote for his replacement.

While I’m aware of the Welsh independence movement, I’m never sure of quote how legitimate a force it is. Compared to the SNP, which have been a big voice in UK politics, Welsh independence always seemed like a fringe view and unlikely to lead to a referendum. I never really had strong feelings for fighting types, I really like Heracross since gen 2 but even that wasn’ta top favourite.
