  • If they bought the domains and fired the people it should be easy for someone else to start a new site using the available talent pool to quickly become a relevant name as well.

Me personally, I strongly dislike IGN because (other than all the common reasons) they force me to access a poorly translated version of their content when I'm perfectly capable of reading their originals in English, so even if they have an article I'm interested on, I can't easily access any decent version of it because or my geographic location.

  • Over the past decades I've had several different women (girlfriends, mother-in-laws, coworkers) complain that I "acted too softly" in some situation or another, saying I should have raised my voice or made threats or stuff like that. If I could go back in time I wouldn't act differently in any of those situations.

In your case I would probably complain to someone about security not showing up though. In a hospital setting it is their responsibility.

  • When I was a kid there was a song that I guess was popular around here that mocked bald people with several "pet names", one of them was "Moskito Airport".

Over a decade later I started taking the train to go to work and it took me literal years to stop getting that song pop up in my head every time the train announced the airport station. Nobody around me even remembers that song exists. I don't even remember who sang it or where it would play, but still - listen to the word airport and the song starts playing in my head. Same thing is true for pretty much every word that is not often found in song lyrics.

  • On PCs (specially steam):

    • Games are often discounted, so you can buy them at lower prices
    • Games remain available in your account "forever" (as long as the service exist). You can upgrade to new PCs as many times as you want and the games will remain available.
    • You can play online for free, you can make cloud backups automatically, you get achievements, tradeable cards and items, extra visuals and fake points for karma.

    On Consoles (specially nintendo):

    • Games pretty much never get any discount, even after a sequel is released.
    • Once you replace it with a new console, you likely won't have access to games you bought on previous iterations (up until recently you would lose games even by buying the same console).
    • You need to pay extra to play online, or to backup your saves, and there's no extra useless goodies.

So in short: There's hardly any reason to pirate something on PC other than to avoid paying for it. There's several benefits to getting the game legitimately. On consoles, getting games from the high seas is actually more convenient. Sometimes people will even buy the game but still play a pirate copy instead.

When you can no longer breed faster horses, you invent the car. There's many ways in which GTA can still make a leap to a new quality level. Imagine if you could destroy buildings and then see it being repaired for weeks before coming back to a functioning state. Imagine npcs like those of cities skylines 2, each with their own stats and needs and living their life in the simulation. Imagine a custom made AI to give life to those Npcs so they react to your actions and the news in the papers in a realistic way. Maybe even let you talk to them with your mic.

Imagine you go to a random npc house and kill the adults living there, leaving the teenager son alone in the world. Now he starts selling drugs to survive and that causes a new side quest to appear related to that drug-selling. Not something that was baked into the game but generated automatically based on your own actions.

Traffic too. Imagine traffic laws changing to react to the accidents you cause. Speed bumps showing up in streets with frequent crashes. People avoiding certain roads after frequent police chases. New roads being developed dynamically in the city in reaction to problems in the old ones.

Imagine you hiding in some bushes for your wanted level to go down and a few npcs are walking by and you hear them talking about the crimes you just committed, mentioning the number of victims and where the police had been chasing you.

Most of those ideas are within the means of an AAA budget game now.
