Nah, this thread is about Roiland & other men in positions of power abusing that power to behave in a predatory way towards women (and in this case a minor), and it should stay that way. It shouldn't be about my shit.
Here I was thinking it was going to be some kind of joke. After watching I am half convinced he has some sort of mud walking powers and they were powerless before his might.
It's because of their body armor. They're carrying between 30-60 extra pounds on their bodies without increasing the surface area it's spread over (that of their feet specifically) at all. So they sink much faster & deeper than a guy who's just in plainclothes/a robe.
This is not really a lack of imagination, as much as it is the direct negation of it.
This person is very deliberately making the argument that our imagined ideals for what the world could be like, aren't the actual material reality of things. That the material reality of things is that Liberal Capitalism has defeated all of it's social & ideological competitors, and that it managed to do this because more people want Capitalism than Socialism. And so you should shut the fuck up & get in line if you want to actually matter to global society.
Of course this is argument is both about 30 years worn by now, and predicated on the material reality of 30 years ago continuing uninterrupted into the forseeable, & unforseeable future.
