  • Thanks for replying :)

It doesn't have to be real time, but it would make things a lot easier. We're both trying to get diagnosed with ADHD, and we tend to forget things until something reminds us, so if we get a reminder about a note, we'd both be likely to act on the reminder immediately so that we don't forget again. (It's a fun situation >.< ).

My current system gets around real-time collaboration needs by using 3 obsidian notes in a shared obsidian vault.

Again, with the probable ADHD, that sort of workflow would never work for us. I can understand why you want to get away from it.

Someone else mentioned Hedgedoc, so I'm having another look at it. I mistook it for an online document tool, so I definitely need to read through the site again.

For the festival, I'm mostly thinking of things behind the scenes, like if I need someone to write up some text for the website, I could add it to a note or todo list, and they could see it there, rather than me waiting to send a message in the morning, and them sending one back when they think it's a reasonable time.

  • Thanks for the suggestions :)

I did have a look at Hedgedoc, but I thought it was for making online content, rather than private. I've probably got it wrong though :)

It's one of the problems I find with some open source projects, they assume that you know what the project does. They don't expect clueless people like me :D

I'll have a look at Cryptpad, thanks :)

  • Good luck, I hope it works :)

P.S. I've just remembered that you can get a socket screwdriver that works like a spanner / wrench. It has a handle like a wrench, but the end is turned 90 degrees, and holds a screwdriver bit. It's ratcheted, so will fit into a narrow space and still work. It could work for both our situations :)

  • I can't move the radiator up or down or left or right because it is fixed and even if I knew how to disconnect it I wouldn't want to spill black water everywhere and ruin the carpet, so I am thinking I should use the same holes but get a bigger plug

How are you planning to get the new plug in, and screw into it? There's not a lot of room behind a radiator.

I'm in a similar situation, but my radiator isn't hooked onto the bracket. There's not enough give in the pipe to lift it back on (it turns out that I hired a bad plumber over a decade ago, but that's another story).

I've had a plumber to have a look, and he's said that the system is going to have to be drained and the pipe cut, to make enough room to lift the radiator onto the bracket. I would imagine that you'd need more room to get a screwdriver in and reattach the bracket, or lift the radiator onto the screw.

I hope I'm wrong, but that looks like it could be a bigger job than you'd expect.

  • I would suggest avoiding Xiaomi anyway. I've got a Mi 10t Lite 5g, and it's come to the end of the update cycle. I wanted to unlock the bootloader and flash a new ROM, but they try to force ads on you and take your data as much as they can.

It has a fair amount of ads by default, which you can disable, but you have to set up a Mi account to unlock the bootloader. Part of setting up the account is having to accept tracking cookies through their website, as well as sync your data to their servers from your phone. If you don't do these, you can't unlock the bootloader.

It just feels a bit scummy, and I don't trust them to delete my data when I'm done.
