YOU CAN DAMN WELL TRY TO AVOID IT!

That’s why I wear a mask 99% of the time. I have been sick 2 times since starting to wear masks 4 years ago. Once was covid, Once was a normal cold.

Now now wearing a mask in my own house so as to avoid my wife spreading it to me. I’ll see if I can dodge it this time and report back to all the defeatist chuds.

It took 3 days into symptoms for a positive rapid this time around. Last time I was asymptomatic for 2 days while testing positive. The key is consistent testing for a few days while you are exhibiting symptoms. However, most people just wanna be able to prove it’s fine as quick as possible.

Maybe to some extent, but it deepens my resentment. I wear a mask every time I go into a building besides my house because of those people. They could wear a mask when they are sick and probably feel a whole lot less guilt.

I see 2 other people in my building that wear masks, one of them sits next to me, the other is the mail guy. Fortunately everyone just knows me as the mask guy and has nothing to say to me about it, i can just exist most of the time.

I understand tho, it's uncomfortable trying to be comfortable in a way that makes no sense to most people. Today was the first time I flat out told it like it is to someone in my professional life. My new boss wants to have a lunch outing with our small team. I had to flat out tell them that I'm not comfortable with dining indoors and being unmasked in confined spaces with people. It was a huge relief to express that to someone outside of my friends who understand without question.

Is masking not an option? Honest question, I don't know your situation, but for most people it is. Especially the people I work with, they definitely can but just wont. I wear a mask to work every day, sick ot not.

Yeah, obviously that is a very real situation, but to add context, both my wife and I work for places that allow and promote remote work in these situations. My boss says it constantly that anyone who is feeling sick doesn't need to think twice about it.

You are correct tho, not everyone has that luxury, but the people who have no other option can still wear a mask.

We learned absolutely nothing over the past 4 years, it's so disheartening.

The craziest part to me is that using human shields is intended to deter the adversary from rash actions, but we are at the point where the IDF is calling the bluff and just firing indiscriminately at anyone opposite them in the streets.

Using human shields is fucked, calling the bluff and killing human shields is just as fucked…

I have always hated honeydew melon until I tried it in another country that actually lets their fruit ripen on the vine instead of in the truck on its way across the country. (I’m American)

Sometimes the way it’s grown and picked makes a huge difference, other times our pallets just change.
