Is asking for email addresses at protests weird? My org does that so when we have upcoming actions/picnics/poli ed readings we can invite activists who might be interested.

Also jew-ish and also feel very isolated from jewish stuff in my area. I always try to remind myself that israel doesn't represent the diaspora and there are cool groups like JVP. Also this: https://youtu.be/tQMRwk8WDd4
I mean our PSL chapter is pretty openly M/L. But we also try not to be sectarian because at this point in the revolution fighting about the (relatively) smaller differences in organizing strategy is counterproductive. We can figure it out once the capitalists are in minecraft
I'm thinking about the latter. They arent my only friends and I have others that I also talk about imperialism, socialism and organizing with. But these were some of my earliest friends. So it really hurt to hear that I they wanted me to change.
Unless you meant how i responded to the intervention. I basically said it was pretty confrontational to hold an intervention over something like this. And that it was kinda hurtful that they would call me pessimistic and ask me to stop being pessimistic when i had never heard this critique of our conversations before.
I should also say that i was kinda surprised when they brought it up since I felt leftist stuff didnt really dominate our conversations. The last few times we talked i complained about how work felt alienating. I also brought up cuba and palestine a few times here and there. But we also talked about music, workouts, relationships, how other friends were doing, upcoming plans etc. So its not like i was constantly redirecting the conversation to the CIA or something.
It would be funny, but at this point left organization in the state probably wouldn't produce a better alternative so eh maybe.
Also not linking the video cause it doesn't deserve views

Going to a funeral is never fun but it can help with some closure. For me it also helped to grieve with people who understood as opposed to alone. Ultimately, its up to you, but I imagine the family would really appreciate you being there.
Thanks for the rec, i'll give it a listen!
To add on, the status quo period, at least for our union, doesn't mean you can't still file grievances (formal process for remedying contract violation). It just means you can't take those cases to arbitration (third party judge decides on case). Its usually good to use unresolved grievances and any unfair labor practices (like the aforementioned unilateral changes in working conditions) to add leverage to negotiations and use settling them as part of the final agreement with the employer.
