Glue and ductape
this settings page does not exist on desktop, only on the mobile version. If I go to en.m.wikipedia.org I can see it on desktop, but it's not on en.wikipedia.org. It also does not save settings from mobile version to desktop version...
So basically a personalized FOSS chromecast device? Also, howd you send the media links? Via ssh?
are you sure about that? on FF if I click on the first part of the link it redirects me to lemdroid, but clicking the part after the /c/, redirects me to dbzer0. Also different part of the link lights-up when hovering over it
nah unfortunately that's not it
You cannot see the posts? There are only two posts. Are you sure
there was no subscribe button. Now it's working, as per top comment. On lemdro.id it is still unreachable: copy and paste the following in your browser (do not click, it may be split into two, which is hardly noticeable) https://lemdro.id/c/whatstheword@lemmy.world
EDIT: browser, FF
how do I interact with a community I cannot connect to? Would I need to manipulate the URL in order to "access" it, although this gives the error page not found, of course. (Not the best method of poking another community.)
But that's interesting that it takes some time to sync or whatever. Unfortunately, this immediately creates the illusion that some communities don't exist, and causes people to create a double community. This just happened to me. I created c/whatstheword on my instance...
And now I suddenly can. Was something tweaked by the admins?
I also couldn't search for the said community. Now that is also resolved. Very very odd.
EDIT: interestingly, from the instance lemdro.id the said community is also inaccessible
So I finally did it. Results?
First was unable to shrink in windows due to a bunch of reasons, but I overcame them: hibernation file, page(r)file, and other bullcrap.
Finally, I could shrink. Then, a fatal error in the shrinking process. I ignored it. Waited few minutes and the disk seemed to have shrunk after all. Weird.
Then proceeded as planned. GParted the rest. All is working fine now!
Moral of the story? None.
I'm not sure whether this is equivalent, but the free space was on the left of the root partition, so I first moved the root partition to the left of the free space, then extended it to the right. It probably took twice as long. And maybe the risk is the same, I've no idea
Download GPS emulator to fake your location if you're down
What is the system32 equivalent in linux
Oh I see.
And how unnecessary imo... We mostly all have personal PCs nowadays
Same setup but with gnome. My video screen recorder broke: simplescreenrecorder for which I have not yet found a solution.
Also Mathpix anyone familiar? Just straigh out don't work
Does the keyboard work as expected if you switch to a text console (eg. Ctrl+Alt+F2)?
I'll try as soon as possible. But I do need to mention it only occurs at the login screen, not the lock screen. Perhaps this rules out package or extension issues, but I'll try reinstalling libinput either way, and fiddle with 3rd party extensions. Thanks for your reply
so I kinda solved it by switching to Wayland. Not sure it lasts since im on proprietary nvidia drivers
ahh good thanks. I was afraid it was more serious.
It's a bummer this is not more streamlined. I know this is not the place to whine about it, but it's also unfortunate that you can't see the community name inside the URL for easy/quick reference. E.g. if you're scrolled down in a post, it's not readily visible which community you're in.
Question 1: what’s in your .xinitrc?
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ei9hajgzugfs4qnmg9r1f/h?rlkey=bnedoohvpuilvuzqvgmhi7pda&e=2&dl=0
It also contains the logs people mentioned I should check. The Xorg.0*
files are from the day of the crash, and 2 days later, when I booted again, the other files were created: Xorg.1*
Question 2: why are you starting X this way?
I was under the impression that startx
would just start the GUI regardless what display manager I use (lightdm? not sure), or display server (xorg, x11 in my case) I have installed.
EDIT: it took me wayyy too long to copy these files. Apparently ls -lh
does not show hidden files ... I thought my whole laptop went nuts.
it doesn’t sound like you’re an advanced user.
You're god damn right
Well, this is certainly not my cup of tea.
