I don't think I've had a single mouse in the last 15 years with that problem. Do you have a lot of pets? Their fur is really good at getting into mouse wheels and you just have to clean it out.

Microsoft Remote Desktop requires Winodws * pro, but Windows File Sharing doesn't.
You can also just wash your hands after working with lead solder.
Nvidia or Intel GPU?
Ah, the lower horn. The true aphrodisiac.
Why are you getting a 5900x CPU? Are you going to be doing a lot of CPU heavy work? The 5900x isn’t really a gaming CPU it’s more of a productivity CPU. Because of some quirks about how it’s made the 5800x (8 core) can typically perform better on games and be cheaper.
Also the 5800x3D is a beast. I’d highly suggest going for that if it’s close enough in price.
In terms of privacy of course because in terms of price it’s another story

Also none of the comments even bother addressing the actual question.

sorry to tag the top mod
Are you really though?
with a lot of effect active like blur
Are you sure it's not just motion blur from the screen? What's the response time of the display. Doesn't look like it's good on even the newer models based on this review.

Found the exact model. Yeah 44ms is not good, that's most likely your issue. Pair that with it being only a dual core CPU and everything is bound to feel sluggish even when it isn't actually slow.

MSRP of the X1E is about twice what the X1 non E is.
TDP wise they’re also wildly different. Idk what the Gen. 1-3 are, but my Gen. 4 has a 109 watt PL1 and 130 something watt PL2. From notebook check review the X1c Gen. 8 can only sustain about 18 watts under load. They are wildly different machines despite the similar name.
If money is a concern then go for the standard T14. They sell a metric fuck ton of them which means they’re going to be cheaper used. The X1c is the MacBook of the thinkpad line. Since they aren’t the “thin and light” ultrabook they have much more room for the CPU to run at full speed. My base model T14 Gen. 1 with its i5 can run at max turbo speed indefinitely. (About 25-30 watts, twice the X1c) And the T14 with its one slot of ram is capable of upgrading 40 gigs of ram unlike the X1 that’s soldered only. Here in the USA I got my T14 for $200 about 1.5 years ago. It still had 6 months of its factory warranty left. An X1 of that same generation would be at least twice that price, and a P1 would probably be 10x the price.
Don’t buy refurbished, buy a regular ass used laptop and skip paying for someone else to wipe the computer for you. You’re not paying for an OS when you buy used/refurbished. They’re just using the license key that’s already stored in the bios.
Also the P1/X1E and the X1 carbon are completely different classes of machines. The T14s is a much closer fit to an X1 than the thin portable workstation that’s the P1. Good luck finding a P1 with no GPU because that’s 90% the point of this laptop.
“grapheneOS trolls are downvoting every single post and comment of mine, and committing vote manipulation on Lemmy. They are using 5-6 accounts.”
Is that really criticism of graphene os? or is it complaining about specific users who like graphene os?
It's not just mom and pop anymore. Kids (and adults) spend far too much time online and not enough time touching grass and legitimately talking to real people.
Not at all surprising since people buy the Pi to tinker, and plenty of people play with their own local AI models. So why not get a 2 watt module to tinker with your own local AI over having it churn away on a high power PC?
I don't think it's the case for the T480/580, but for the T14 and T16 machines it's literally the exact same mobo just stuffed into the larger case.
You can get a bigger battery on the T16 at least vs the T14
> 100 watt hours and you can't take that battery on a plane in the US.
I doubt viewing the ad on YouTube would give you a virus. You’d have to click on the ad, leave YouTube, and at that point google would wash their hands of it and say it’s your fault.
This really feels like being angry just to be angry.
