Wear a mask dog, like yeah individual is not as good as systemic but even if you save one life by not spreading COVID that is good. Its an airborne virus and masking is literally proven to stop infections.
The only reason why I am still alive is because of masking, and other people masking. This shit of people refusing to mask has killed homies of mine and other people I know, and like mass masking is something that can be pushed at the grassroots. People are being ableist as fuck right now, but if there was a movement against ableism and COVID eugenics we would be in a better place than this "let them die" attitude that too many people are spouting.
Damn I am excited. I got all my pre-hardmode NPC's and three pylons up for each of the villages. I ran out of money and bombs when making a hellivator though :(, but I guess I should farm the jungle underground in the meantime even though I think I am pretty well geared (got full demonite armor, the minishark, bee sword, and like both the slime and bee summon ally thing).
This shit is why I barely touch grass anymore for real.
Too many people no different than Fascists when it comes to COVID. I still remember when it was just self identified fascists and chuds who refused to mask, and now its the abled masses (and some disabled people who value treats over the lives of other disabled people).
May be its because I have not reached hardmode yet but I feel Terraria is the best "sandbox" game I played, mainly because of the different influences it takes (metroidvania, RPG I guess with the items, etc) and it just having a lot of depth. I only started playing this month though.
Parks >>>>>>>>>>>>> sites of purchasing commodities
All these super-spreader concerts make me regret picking music as my primary way of making art since high school. Its hard to listen to new music that is not made decades ago because of this too.
This COVID shit has made me disillusioned with the arts and this civil society in general. Been doing my own thing with some comrades, trying to fight this ableist genocide. I feel we are doing something but its an uphill struggle.
Yeah while I do think a more confrontational praxis is needed, I do think it is possible to get many people to mask again. I think however that the praxis will have to cause a culture shift aimed toward tackling ableism. Its primarily a culture battle and a battle against ableism in my opinion.
I will say that even if that shift happens, which I am hoping for, this mass ableist violence has inflicted trauma on me that I will probably never recover from. And I will probably never view people the same again.
I honestly had a lot of success with persuading houseless people to take COVID seriously. I have been involved with some mutual aid work and around 50% (or more) of the people I interact with are very open to hearing about COVID and with receiving masks. I found that I don't need to sugar coat about how bad COVID is with a lot of houseless people, like directly stating that the government is lying about the virus and bringing up the dangers of Long COVID is enough. I think though this is partly because a lot of houseless people are disabled: many of the ones I interact with are either on SSI or are applying to get on it.
With housed able people though, the only way I got them to budge was by being aggressive against their behavior. Its not always possible, but its been the most successful strategy for me.
Honestly, one of the big reasons why I still take COVID seriously is because I got fatigue issues from pre-COVID (it began to escalate when I was in 11th grade years ago, where I really pushed myself so hard to the point where I never got the energy level I used to have). This fatigue is still bad enough that I literally can't work a job, so I can't imagine how bad Long COVID would fuck me up.
Great post, thank you for writing it!
I appreciate you for calling out the gravity of the situation, I wish more people did that.
Yeah that's a good take. Reactionary authors can def sometimes make a piece that end up being critical of oppressive social formations. Brothers Karamazov comes to mind, like that book made me an atheist for awhile even though Dostoevsky def is a religious fundamentalist; even though it also had anti-communist themes I argued that book ended up not portraying communism in a bad light.
I been meaning to check out Blood Meridian for almost a decade. The prose is beautiful, but idk if its a reactionary text or not.
Wear a mask. You will get a disabled person killed otherwise.
If anyone gives you shit for it, they prob were not going to be a good friend or potential partner in the first place.
Its basically a genocide right now against disabled people, so I don't really track cases. All I do is wear a good mask and give anti-maskers shit whenever I can; my city is full of libs and plague rat leftists who fold pretty quickly once you meet their eugenicist bullshit with fury.
Thoughts on Tickle Me Elmo?
The characters are ok. However, the game's atmosphere is pretty fucking amazing and it touches upon trauma as well grief probably better than most media I encountered. Its definitely one of those games where the best part is the various vibes it emit throughout its run. The gameplay is definitely fun, and the story is pretty good also which helps. I would say it is the best video game I played because of how it presented its themes, like it done a damn incredible job.
FYI the main composer (Slimegirl) was a domestic abuser , like they even admitted to it. That soured my experience with the game. Its a shame because the songs they made really did heighten the atmosphere of certain key scenes.
I am not a fan of the main developer of the game either, more like she gives me off vibes.
Damn I read the article and fuck, what Andrew did was absolutely fucking brutal like holy shit!
This is fucking violence
I'm kind of hoping that more alt scenes in my city start taking COVID more seriously. A lot of them are connected to leftist efforts, and local peeps in those leftist efforts are starting to get much better around COVID due to people speaking up on how fucked up it is to neglect implementing COVID safety measures. Some alt art spaces are already pretty good on COVID stuff here, but I would not be surprised if more of them get better due to pressure.
I'm more of someone that likes to date people that I already know, and I think those spaces being better on COVID will make it easier for me to build more social connections.
On a related note: even though a lot of leftists are currently pretty awful around COVID, I would not be surprised if COVID safety in this shithole country ends up being a thing that leftist and faux leftists take up broadly again within the next year. I just got a hunch judging from the direction of where I live and some of the neighboring cities.
Been having chronic tension headaches since taking Lion's Mane mushroom for a month. This issue has been going on for 6 months since I stopped taking the mushroom. It seemed to have been getting better very slowly but it seems like the improvement is stagnating.
Dont know what to do since doctors are gaslighters. Its a constant tension headache. I got chronic fatigue btw but did not have daily headaches until I took these Lion's Mane mushrooms.
