Yeah I dunno what that's supposed to mean. You can't install it on an iPhone or most other Android devices because they all have locked bootloader's (among other reasons). They only develop for Pixel because it streamlines the development process, along with having the highest level of security in the SoC.

Another option would be lineage OS

Lineage is a great project, and fairly private, but as the name implies, it's intended for older phones to increase their life. Not necessarily to be private.

I installed Bazzite on my laptop, Steam Deck, desktop, and my iMac last week.

It'll never work because Google keeps killing and replacing the ecosystem software.

Apple network is not super reliable either. I've seen videos of people using them in crowded cities and you'll only ever get a ping every couple of hours.

Metal back is bound to get dented and scratched. Plastic is the way to go.

I find the cheap phones are often the "premium" ones.

Those are the ones with plastic backs, headphone jacks, multiple SIMs, smaller size, lighter weight, good physical fingerprint readers, etc.

It's not going to matter, as far as privacy is concerned. Meta is going to collect your metadata regardless of whether you use WhatsApp or any other theoretically interoperable platform.
