Had a sink blockage here, my own fault tbh. Solved it by putting an empty saucepan over the drainhole, then filling the sink around the saucepan.
The pressure of the water kept the pan in place and there was no water going down the drainhole. Then I raised the pan slightly to allow water to go down the drain, filling the pipes. Then let the pan get sucked back ,covering the hole and stopping the flow of water dead. Then lifted the pan quickly, with two hands, which creates a suction in the pipes, which might start to dislodge anything in the pipes.
I did this multiple times and poured several kettles of boiling water down the sink afterwards, which unblocked the sink pretty well. YMMV.

Yeah, generally agreed with a lot of the arguments and am often an Amber stan, just wanted to point out one of the benefits of mutual aid programs they didn't cover and that maybe isn't considered enough.
