Are you using YouTube music purely for new suggestions?
If not, and you have your own curated playlists, you could consider NewPipe (or the fork called Tubular) as it allows you to play these in the background, and even add songs from SoundCloud and Bandcamp into the same playlist.
What device do you have? These apps could just be crashing because YouTube detected it temporarily blocked access; happens all the time with yt-dlp, Piped, and NewPipe
I recently setup a Meshtastic lora node and realized antennas are complicated... I never knew there were ones that are most resonant on specific frequencies and stuff, the importance of having the impedance close to 50ohms for best performance. And fake amazon ones that give you only 8cm of antenna wire inside a 37mm shaft 🤦♂️
That said, I am shocked that something the size of my thumb can communicate 1km through buildings, and uphill to the other side of my village on such low power. This radio stuff is really fascinating.
Not FOSS as it's under another license, but there's "FUTO Voice Input" if you're looking for a local alternative to Google's voice dictation on Android
https://gitlab.futo.org/alex/voiceinput
The repo has a list of supported and unsupported Android keyboards. Under the hood it uses OpenAI Whisper
Are you planning to make your own OS for the watch? If so, there's another smartwatch project called the "SQFMI Watchy" which is an esp32 combined with an e-ink display, RTC and some other sensors.
While I would highly suggest supporting the creators, there are clones on Aliexpress that may more readily ship out to your country
Yes, this please. Although I don't have a cargo bike, I load up all 3 sides of my pannier and fill a backpack with my cargo 😅
Questions over there might get removed IMO, last time I checked out of curiosity it was full of memes and very little discussion. Could be different now 🤷♂️ but personally i'm staying on Lemmy
Damn this sounds really impressive, especially the possibilities this could offer in medicine.
Must have been really expensive to develop!
DDG queries can't really be written the same way you'd write one in Google if you're after effective results. It'll take some time to get used to it, tbh I was using DDG alongside Google until I fully switched.
I would suggest using any cloud storage provider with a third party client, that automatically encrypts your files before uploading them, ensuring the cloud provider does not have any kind of access to your keys.
I personally use gocryptfs then mirror that to B2, but IIRC rclone and some other third party alternatives have built-in pre-upload encryption options that are easier to setup and use
A per-user rate limit of some sort could have reduced the attack surface I think? Something like that would be quite a bit of dev work to implement though...
At least the situation was promptly resolved and users nuked, although R.I.P. to any smaller Lemmy servers that went down due to the massive spam wave
Music artists? Bands? Mountain names? Types of peppers? Either one would spice things up a bit I think lol
To be fair its not the most noticeable thing lol, GitHub hides it away in the toolbar down the side.
Most GPL licensed projects publish compiled builds on there
Yes - from their GitHub Releases page

Very neat 👌🎉🎉
On a separate note, last one is probably a swordmaster with those 6 fingers lol
AFAIK Lemmy.world (the largest Lemmy instance) was issued a takedown request for something unrelated, and conducted a review of the piracy communities following that.
Unfortunately they decided to remove/unfed a few piracy communities as a result, such as this one on dbzer0.
So while we are still all federated, lemmy.world users can no longer see or interact with the !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com community ☹️
Heads up about SimpleMobileTools - the project sold out and some of those apps are no longer being updated, I'd suggest migrating your data over to the forked apps now maintained by the Fossify organization

Sigh.
On the up side, if anyone wants in, they are free to create accounts on other instances
At my current dev role I try to do optimizations to make new system area pages pretty lightweight, but it's a bit of a struggle as I'm working with devs who have been in the same role for decades. WCAG is not prioritized, and they pull in a ton of JS libraries that usually aren't even used. A lot of the practices I see in use are from 10 years ago, but slowly tidying up the horror show with each dev product meeting.
Admittedly could be much worse though, at least our pages aren't 21MB large.
Got to really wonder what's going on at Mozilla. Between the previous CEO milking it for cash, the purchase of an ad company, and now this?
