  • Oppo has now announced global variants of both smartphones, but with radically different specifications. For starters, the cameras on the Reno12 Pro is radically different from the vanilla Reno12. Plus, both phones use a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC instead of the Dimensity 8250 (Reno12) and Dimensity 9200+ (Reno12 Pro).

I don't know what it is with global variants getting worse specs compared to Chinese versions. The other two dimensity SOCs would've made these smartphones much better. 7300 is midrange at best.

As mentioned earlier, the Oppo Reno12 Pro and Reno12 come with a MediaTek SoC. Oppo calls it the Dimensity 7300 Energy, which comes with the company's Trinity Engine. It uses the 'power of AI' to dynamically allocate resources to apps.

    Hmm...

Lastly, the Oppo Reno12 Pro and Reno12 come with a 5,000 mAh that supports 80 Watt SuperVOOC fast charging with a proprietary charger. USB-PD peripherals can charge the smartphone at up to 55 Watts.

At least USB-PD at high watts is supported.

  • No, it's still there. Just more customisable. You can also change the Control centre so its similar to stock android instead of IOS/colorOS/HyperOS.

Unfortunately, updates take a long time to arrive. The reviewer has yet to receive an official software update. He has also been dealing with an annoying call bug. Nothing phone 2a in comparison has received multiple updates to fix issues. Get a nothing or pixel if you want Stock android look and feel while getting some semblance of software support.

3.5mm jack would be nice. But, its not a deal breaker for me. But, sdcard is a different beast. Having an external card means you can easily transfer some data without being reliant on expensive cloud storage or finicky android data transfer.

Plus, when you factory reset your phone. You can selectivity backup some data and simply pop the card back in without losing all your stuff.

  • Dead cells, genshin impact, titan quest, vampire survivors, magic survival, delight games, wreckfest, interstellar pilot, 9th dawn 3 RPG, 20 minutes till dawn, Alien shooter 2 reloaded, Asphalt extreme Netflix edition, Bit dungeon 3, morphite, crying suns, death's door Netflix edition, doomdepths, dragonfist limitless, powder roguelike, grimvalor, hollow knight, hero siege: pocket edition, magium.

There are lots more but these are the games which I mix and play once a while.
