  • Currently watching a korean series called "The Bequeathed". I'm just on the 3rd episode but it's been good so far. It's giving me True Detective vibes, which is cool because I'm also watching TD Season 4. Still cautiously optimistic because korean shows are notorious for not being able to end properly, but I'm enjoying it so far.

I also saw the 10-minute preview of Dune Part 2 that included an exclusive trailer last night. Got tickets for the early screening on Feb. 25. The hype is real!

  • That jump scare at the beginning was something. I feel like the cleaners and/or workers at the crab processing plant are either complicit or directly involved with the killings. That sequence of interviews where they all non-chalantly say they didn't really notice anything at the station is sus. Also, lol at the AI generated poster in the miner's room, and the poster of Ive. I haven't really checked the reviews but it seems a lot of people don't like the show so far? It's been good IMO.

  • Just watched the 2023 Japanese film Monster. This went under my radar until my wife suggested it. Very great film, and I love the execution of pov/perspective changes for each character as they all tie in together near the climax. The ambiguous ending was kinda weird for me. Not that I don't like ambiguous endings, it's just that this one was a tad bit too ambiguous. It reminds me of an old Mads Mikkelsen film that I won't say so it doesn't spoil you. It's a good idea to go into this film blind. 8.5/10

Also started watching Season 4 of True Detective, which is one of my most anticipated shows this year. The pilot was good. I like how they're bringing back the supernatural vibes similar to season 1. Cast is pretty good so far. Can't really say much yet since it's only been one episode, but it looks to be a good show.

  • Sometime in the late 2000s. Bought a used netbook and didn't know it was running on Ubuntu. Over the years I went through PeppermintOS, Crunchbang, BunsenLabs, Antergos, Arch, and many others. Now I'm on Mint because I don't have the time to maintain my OS and just need something that works. The graph meme where long time users end up with a "basic" distro in the end is somewhat true.
