It's pedantic, but I dislike this phrase a lot. It applies shame of all things to whatever motives someone might have to something. It's one of those "it sounds good to people who aren't going through those things, let's use it on this person who is thinking about the time her kids were taken from her" kinds of things. I for one am analytical about all of my feelings, I don't feel sentiments just for their own sake. Or I did, back before I had anhedonia (which might explain how I personally am doing with this issue, though ironically, some of the same people who used to say we should be more passive now say I don't feel as much as I should). I'm not some willy-nilly revenge seeker, but I don't know how someone could say I don't have any reason to proceed with caution around those who I might envision as still being a potential neglector to me. Though I can attest many people like us find solace in making friends with the friends of the people who wronged said people, as it's said to create a sanction-like effect.

The ones that make the most sense to me as stuff Moses might say.

1. Thou shalt trust honest people, for why would one be honest if nothing comes from it

2. Thou shalt not assume things, to assume is often more destructive than lying

3. Thou shalt not cheat in games and anything with a justified set list of rules

4. Thou shalt not intentionally cause mental illness, for it is equal to murder

5. Thou shalt not gatekeep or deny another person's rightful union

I can't imagine why anyone should stop you from going the places you want to go for advice. I know Lemmy frowns upon even Reddit chain linking, but don't factor that in too much, such things aren't even against Lemmy rules. Keep us updated too if you may, we're sorry this is an issue in your hospital.

You and your first colleague did all what probably could've been called the best case scenario. I would then go on to say I wouldn't blame the hospital for banning the family. Would that not be the preferable next step?

I can't speak for the suspects, but it's probably many different forms of psychology we're looking at, some of which I know (as long as they're going down) want to take society down with it (what many call a lose-lose-situation, probably the worst interpretation of the parable of the tigers and the strawberry) and some of which see their actions as forcing society forward (known as accelerationism).

Correct, non-international conflicts tend to fit more loosely into the sphere of conflict.

Sometimes the best opportunities to show how you feel are not the immediate opportunities.

Not in the UK itself (hence I distinguish them with "mainlanders"), just someone who has lived a commonwealth/territorial upbringing and has moved around a few times. The debate with said mainlanders sticks out because people within the physical UK differ largely in how they say things, and when you emulate them and fail from the perspective of someone from a lesser part of the anglosphere, you can't make the case as well that it's just a matter of different equally valid uses for the same vocabulary.

I thought something similar about the word "campy", as in something so dry it becomes its own style.
