From the accounts I have seen it is generally accepted that people went to far with the cultural revolution and it was a bad time.
However now china can't stop winning, so maybe it had some secret sause.
The lib idea of a totalitarian CCP can't really withstand the Cultural Revolution when the CCP leadership said 'you should get rid of us' .
I don't understand what the cultural revolution was and am too lib, western and lazy to ever do it, so Imma keep avoiding it

And you can point out Holodomor wasn't a deliberate desition of killing anyone, but libs repeat it anyways.
Hell, libs even repeat that the soviet death toll in WWII was caused for the evil desicion of fighting back instead of surrender.

My point is that the party itself seems to own up to the events and sees them as gratuitous. If the party itself, through their media, acknowledges such events occurred, I'm more inclined to believe they occurred, that's all.
