Ken Loach is one of the greats for sure. Haven't seen this film get much love around here but it's a brutal and heartfelt film. One of the best portrayals of our fucked modern lives. Had me tearing up, not gonna lie.

    I, Daniel Blake is a great companion film to this, also by Loach, that shows how the welfare system consistently fails everybody it "helps." "I am not a blip on a computer screen or a national insurance number, I am a man." The Wind That Shakes the Barely is a fantastic film about the Irish revolution and subsequent civil war. Loach is a total comrade, and glad to see him getting some love!
