Unrelated: you ever feel like any authenticity the Internet ever had has been destroyed by social media

Take Resident Evil Village and the vampire character, it's like a stupid race to see who can have the most over the top reaction and who can meme the hardest, who can make the most "OMG" expression on stream to get into a compilation video and get the most clicks

Nothing fucking matters, even horniness is performative and empty

Fuck well said. Put into words exactly what was bothering me about that meme.

It was only a matter of time, but now it's "oh, you're only having VANILLA sex? That's terrible!" And a list of bullshit you need to buy in order to have "correct" sex, like, apparently the human body isn't good enough, you need to have the right bullshit from the right brands in order to have a correct sexual experience

It gets to a point where I honestly wonder "how many people in BDSM are actually having fun and how many are doing it because they feel insecure about their sex lives"

Edit: or with the "are you a top/bottom, are you a dom/sub," it's like, what the fuck is this questionnaire checklist bullshit, it's not a job interview, so much for sex being exploratory and liberating

I remember some video where a streamer was like, crying, because he was so struck by the beauty of the fucking Halo remaster. And in the videos that younger kids watch -- the '500 IQ Minecraft Moves' genre -- the streamers are always doing this overstated hype acting, I don't know how to describe it. Like everything that happens is the most, like they're always 'on.' It's pretty strange and unsettling.
