Did Mao know that he had comrades outside of china? Does Xi know that he has supporters in the US/europe? I'm wondering if it ever comes up when discussing policy. Does anyone know? I guess what I'm trying to say is :xi-plz: save us.

“I envy you. You North Americans are very lucky. You are fighting the most important fight of all—you live in the belly of the beast.” :che:

Ho Chi Minh found the French Communist Party too (like the literal party that Melanchon is in).

It's not the default anymore, but it was taken for granted that you were an Internationalist first and foremost if you were a communist. Our struggle is a global one, where the Palestinians free themselves I am freed also, where the Vietnamese are free I am also freed, when the black Americans are shot or killed I am also shot and killed. So, yeah, Stalin knew about the nascent communist organization in the US. It was part of his direction that we decided to tamp down on agitation and militancy in order to aid the war effort and do our part to destroy the Nazis. Castro and Che are aware that we supported them, Xi knows that we're out there. They are our comrades in the global fight against capitalism, of course we know of each other even if we don't agree on everything lol.

I remember in the 60s, the North Vietnamese wished American protesters "good luck on your spring offensive"

CPUSA was considered to be a diplomatic back door to the USSR during the cold war. It's one of the reasons it wasn't destroyed completely.

Even if they do, their foreign policy wouldn't take western comrades into account considering how unreliable you generally are. Maybe if the radlib problem was solved, but even then I doubt it.
