Like I know Reddit is garbage but why is this particular variety of garbage so pervasive there

It's deep in the history of the site. As soon as it grew beyond the extremely small initial niche community (basically once subreddits became a thing), people latched onto the opportunity to make their pervert communities. /r/jailbait was around in the very, very early days.

Was also around well into the 'entirely too recent' days. In a similar vein,

      creep shit

I member the 'ask a r*pist' thread...fun times. Wonder if that monument to the site's collective atrociousness is still up, or if someone had the shame to purge it.

Wasn't one of the mods (that we know of) a pedo? Also wasn't :maxwell: a :reddit-logo: user? Also didn't we learn years ago that a lot of :reddit-logo: is astroturfed from Langley VA by the :cia: who likely employed :epstein: and who have a long history of employing or working with pedos?

Should I stop asking questions before I get heart attacked or suicided?

In 1977, a petition was addressed to the French parliament calling for the abrogation of several articles of the age of consent law and the decriminalization of all consensual relations between adults and minors below the age of fifteen (the age of consent in France). A number of French intellectuals – including such prominent names as Louis Aragon, Michel Foucault, Jean-Paul Sartre, Jacques Derrida, Louis Althusser, Roland Barthes, Simone de Beauvoir, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Michel Leiris, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Philippe Sollers, Jacques Rancière, Jean-François Lyotard, Francis Ponge, Bernard Besret and various prominent doctors and psychologists – signed the petition.

this, but i think its just the internet as a whole. Was on Youtube watching a Saville clip the other day and came across this strange comment about how nobody could prove pedophilia was wrong without resorting to emotional appeal (lol)

A few bad actors + free speech absolutism + the jailbait struggle sessions + pedo power users + impressionable young users

Because not being upset about pedophilia is how you show you're a cool rational smartboy unlike all the inferior emotional "pedos bad" NPCs

I went over to reddit when digg had the fallout over the power user stuff. Anyways I noticed right away that porn subs were wildly more popular than so much stuff. One of those subs was the jailbait one which was by far top 2 or 3 porn subs. There were quite a few other pedo or extremely borderline pedo ones. The point of all this is it has always fostered these types of people. And wouldn't ya know it, the libertarian sub was also one of the most active politic subs outside of just r/politics. These things go hand and hand with each other, reddit community is made up with a lot of people people who agree with these things, it was created by libertarians too

I started to leave Digg when they launched that new version that wouldn't even let you see your past comments to respond to people talking to you.

They eventually rolled it back but Reddit had already taken the opportunity to spam themselves all over Digg and I made an account.

    It's simple.

Reddit used to have a softcore child porn forum.

It was vehemently defended by the admins until it eventually became untenable.

Most of those people never left, because they still liked the rest of the site. Now they are still there to tell you what h-e-b-e-p-h-i-l-i-a is.

because reddit centralized the internet. "first they came for the leftists, so... fuck." and then somewhere far far down the line i'm sure they'll get the pedos too.

Reminder that the user with one of the most karma on Reddit, u/maxwellhill, famous for having a very strong opinion about the age of consent, stopped posting the exact day Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested and hasn't posted since then.

Is this about the Samsung AI btw? When i made this comment i didn't know shit about it.

I think in a way that is uncomfortable that is actually normative. Defending pedo shit is technically a normy conservative value. Bibe says kids are full adults at 13 or so, 16 in some places. Japan seems to think about 10 is close enough. Chicken hawk bars were common in my millennial childhood. Add the MIT to cia pipile to poorly sovialized young men and you have a ven diagram that is a circle.

It is only in the modern progressive era we stared to care about it. We do have the contradiction that acknowledging the humanity of children means we might have to someday reckon with their sexuality. Boy howdie is that day not today though.

So, we know that sexual arousal impairs multiple higher order processing skills. So, we can see the dirext link between sexually frusturated younf men staring at anime tiddies all day and the decline of their judgment. If we legalized and normalized sex work, I claim this would be gone in two generations tops.
