BC is worse. The BC NDP stopped pretending to even represent the middle, and is just full on supporting pro-rich policies. It's pretty bleak - the options are a center-right NDP, a full right Liberal party and a center-right Green party.
Electoralism. It's a fuck?
Bc politics just look like a derelict swamp to me, and thats coming from someone who somewhat understands quebec politics.
From what I see, BC progressive politics centres around appeasing the millionaire hippies in Victoria.
Social democratic housing policy in my country consists of:
- Build more expensive housing
- People living in cheap apartments is expected to move into the expensive ones.
- The poor can now go live in the cheap apartments.
- Demolish public housing with "too many" unemployed, brown people and other undesireds.
- Just building cheap housing? Sorry sweetie, that would be against the law. But we'll call the expensive housing "affordable" to make it look like we give a shit
The ondp has been a shitshow for as long as i can remember.
Half promises to try and lift zoning restrictions is better than we'll ever get from the OLP, but without a commitment to public housing the best we can hope for is luxury quadplexes instead of luxury condos. I'll have to vote for them but this is shambolic. Once again their election to lose, and once again they'll spike it because they can't even pretend to be ambitious
I think we'd be lucky to get anything better than a OPC minority. Del Duca is polling well considering he's been a complete non factor so far, but between Ford's new campaigning restrictions and Ontario's ability to be goldfish brained morons, I fully expected to be disappointed. The NDP will continue to fail until they realize they need to provide actual solutions
What? This document isn't that bad tbh. Not sure what you're expecting from a social democratic party.
Social democracy is actually better than this. As much as leftist rag on SocDems, the "SocDem" parties aren't even SocDem in North America, they're just liberals with a small amount of handouts and different subsidies.
Literally the Liberal party could do this and no one would be like "oh wow, the Liberals are a SocDem party now".
Damn this shit sucks, so much landlord and developer ass sucking. At least they gave a small nod towards renters but damn
