It's the same thing with everything else: socialism, veganism, anti-sexism, etc. We're all powerless and strapped into some hell ride we can plainly see and understand but we can only escape it in one way (that's illegal and stigmatized). The Culture goes on because there are enough people uncaring or unaffected to keep perpetuating like a bacteria culture.

They couldn't even pass a law to alleviate the mental health crisis, because the solution would ultimately be to have universal healthcare.

If the democrats actually cared about people and had object permanence, they'd at least come to the conclusion that gun laws probably won't pass. Then they could allow these tragedies to serve as an opportunity to agitate for Medicare for all to help millions of people.

If we changed society so that it took care of peoples needs and wasn't a pressure cooker of constant stress and anxiety, careening towards a centuries long natural disaster that will decimate life on earth, rich people would have to pay higher taxes. :hillary-contempt:

I'm fully convinced things aren't going to get better. I'm gonna keep on but I've accepted I'm going to unalive when I'm unable to secure food and water.
