You'll start to notice their exceptions align with who they see as human. It's just fashy ideation presented as ironic doomerism.
Somehow more compelling in the comic version where his goal is to kill fuckloads of people to impress the female personification of Death so he can fuck her. Imagine writing a script worse than "I will countless people just to fuck".
