  • Alright look, this was a vent post so yeah, I'll cop to taking an excessively hostile tone. But do take not several other people were posting in this thread about experiencing similar treatment to me, so it would seem this isn't just some isolated thing I've been through but an actual trend. It's a two way street, if we can call out working people without kids for being unwilling to help lessen the load on working people with kids, then we can also recognize sometimes working people with kids are perhaps sometimes more than a bit dismissive of the hardships of those without and should be more respectful when asking them for help.

  • I always assume when someone is criticizing “anarchists” here they mean like libs appropriating anarchism

I mean, I have some fairly harsh criticisms of anarchism as an ideology even notwithstanding the radlibs appropriating it. Thing is I generally keep them to myself for the sake of non-sectariansism. But I’ll be honest I think the non-sectarian rule is perhaps a bit vague, like how hardly can I criticize you? Also it only really seems to apply to MLs Maoists and anarchists, nobody seems to hold back on Trots or Primitivists.

  • One guy who could have helped a coworker and actively made a decision to not help them

Fuck off jackass, I’m criticism a consistent pattern of behavior, not a single instance of one guy asking me for a favor. I’ve done plenty of favors to my coworkers, but some of them have started expecting it if me. You could as much criticize these guys for lacking solidarity with me by not respecting my free time by constantly expecting more of me than what’s fair.

  • Okay, you’re right. Idk there does just seem to be this culture of entitlement around people with kids where they act like I have some privilege as a non-kid-haver. Which, yeah my life is overall easier, but you know it’s a choice you fucking made to have kids, you took on that responsibility. Plus it’s not like having them doesn’t come with it’s benefits, like all the tax breaks and whatnot. I get it’s a struggle and whatnot but at the end of the day it’s a struggle you took on and I’m not really obligated to put myself to help you with it beyond basic human kindness and solidarity, it’s not my duty to make this easier for you.

  • I mean, okay I get that, but these fuckers sometimes act like I’m the dick for not bending over backwards to accommodate raising the offspring they chose to have. Like I get it’s rough, and hell I’ll often let guys leave some work undone at handoff so they can get home to their kids, but I’m the one doing them the favor here, if anything i deserve to get jerked off to accommodating them.
