They fucked up in a rush to build back better and now they're going to have to reverse their rhetoric and get gibbed by republicans. Republicans will completely reverse their positions immediately because there's no real political consequence to doing that. Then they get to outflank Dems by being harder on vaccine safety than they were. They realize the same thing that fucked Trump can fuck Biden so they're going to go with that. We're about to see Dems get absolutely rolled by their own actions. It never fails.
Even without a mask mandate, there's people protesting in my state right now against vaccines and masks. Even when you're free to cough in each others' mouths in public and everything. It literally does not matter. But Dems had to be bullied by the chamber of commerce into declaring 4th of July freedom day. Biden last week says there's no pandemic except for unvaccinated people. But obviously there is a pandemic and it's going to start getting worse again because the vaccines aren't everything. We should have been wearing masks the whole time even when vaccinated. More oopsie daisy mixed messaging on what vaccines can do and how they interface with masks. You tell people vaccines make you immortal because you want people to take them. So they take them. But if the vaccines are so good you shouldn't need to wear a mask. But the vaccines don't stop the spread of infection, they just keep you from dying from it. So the virus still spreads. Remove masks and you get more spread.
Anyone with a little bit of awareness knew we'd hit a vaccination ceiling. People a year ago were rightly laughing at the idea that we'd see over 60% vaccination rates. There's no excuse. It's an absolute shit show and this is going to lead to a lot of shit down the road. They just can't stop doing this thing every time they're in power.

A coworker told me I didn't have to wear a mask, as if the fucking virus is gone. We work with older ppl too, no one thinks about their well-being. Fucking idiots at the CDC. People think this shit is over and no longer a threat. You cannot just take their word for it, they lifted the mask mandates so that people can return to work quicker and be sacrificed for the almighty profit.

Just last week Biden said that you shouldn’t wear a mask if you’re vaccinated and over 12. It’s mind boggling (but not in the slightest bit surprising) how utterly fucking reckless the supposed adults in the room are.

I called instantly when masks were dropped that most people who were antivax would not follow an honor system, because it's fucking America. Yet every liberal friend called me a moron because "masks are useless if you are vaccinated" which is not true and also not the main problem. Also we totally gave up on social distancing so that Applebees can fill up every damn table. Biden actually took the one thing from Trump's regime that wasn't a major problem (mask mandates) and actively made it worse
Just announce another stimulus check for the vaccinated and they'd have 70%+ by the equinox
