We need to revise the ADA. It should create an enforcement agency, the agents should be the only government agents with firearms, and they should have "go anywhere, ask anything, shoot anybody" authority. Then lets see how fast Bezos gets his dick out of city parks services' asses

I think such things are good, if they are placed there by communist collectives. This isn't the case, therefore good canvas I guess.

    1. Order like… one pen from Amazon for delivery to a locker.
    2. Unlock locker.
    3. Leave [redacted] in locker.

I mean, what the hell are they even supposed to be for, exactly?

Are we really at the point where I need to get something from Amazon so desperately that I can't just wait till I'm home to pick it up? Is there not a CVS or Walgreens on every fucking corner of Chicago already?

It isn't even "too stupid". It's just... how the fuck is this more accessible than the overabundance of retail space we've already got?

So from what I've seen, in the few weeks since they were initially put up, they have been removed. That said, I didn't closely follow the story nor have I been to a park lately, so I could be wrong.

Only the most egregious were removed with plans for a more well thought out installation. The Parks Dept. still plans to move forward with this

Bold of you to pretend the police aren’t specifically paying attention to these boxes because there is no separation of capital power and the state

Nah, I just don't expect any sort of competence from them. I wont be the first, but I'm sure someone is gonna happily try one of those handheld "emp" generators on one of these suckers.

the police aren’t specifically paying attention to these boxes

The police are both dumb and lazy. Anyone assigned to the "stand in the park and stare at these boxes for 8 hours a day" shift triply so.

Looks like there are no locks to pick or anything. I'm guessing you open through the Amazon app.

The Chicago park district has beautiful parks. I’ve spent so much time doing recreational activities in a variety of them. This makes me so sad.

Here in Russia I see those kinds of things in stores and malls and what not. What's the point of putting it in the park?

The rent is probably cheaper than a private space because our parks are so underfunded they’re desperate for any financial support
