Congress is full of "Christians" who just can't wait for the apocalypse, and if they can fill their pockets with AIPAC money in the mean time, so much the better. They feel that Israel will be instrumental in starting the battle of Armageddon so they want it to be ready to go at all times. Most of congress actually hates Jews if they are being honest about it, unless the Jews are in occupied Palestine stealing Muslim land, who they hate even worse.
