I love the assumption that no one's read more than 20 books lol, and these guys will play a 40 hour game start to end.

...Is it difficult for you to understand why it's easier for people to play 40hr games than it is to read the often incredibly dry writing of communist and anarchist theory?

I used to be a gamer, I get it. Videogames fuck with your brain and everything else becomes less interesting. It's why I gave away my PC.

I also decided I wanted to understand how the world works and practiced reading social theory.

That said, it didn't happen in a vaccuum. It happened after I learned what cops really were the hard way at a BLM protest, surrounded by people radicalized by similar experiences.

Reading books is a skill and its one we should be helping each other hone, because very few people learn new things alone. Start a reading group with your friends, start with less dry and shorter texts. Read things that have film accompaniments.

Ultimately the problem is that the literature is boring.

The rhetoric is totally useless if the only people who will ever engage with it are people who are dedicated enough to slog through dry, boring writing.
