it's incredible how fast the "public option" was dropped from the popular consciousness. It felt like half the entire primary season was dedicated to debating M4A vs the public option and now it's just never brought up, even with the fucking pandemic still clapping like two thousand people a day here.

When lurking in lib subs their defense of that is that we just need to vote harder and get 60 Dem senators because otherwise it will never happen, so talking about it before then is pointless.

They could have a billion senators and they would still invent excuses for not giving people healthcare.

Joe Biden could literally have magical powers to make anything come true and they would still have excuses

He also promised to give more money to cops and to be aggressive to China. It's only his bad campaign promises he's keeping.

I always wonder about outspoken, cocksure libs like this. Did this person ever realize they were being had, or have they just clung to the party line and the 'Manchin/Sinema destroyed it all by themselves' shindig that seems to be the modus operandi for libs right now?

It's because liberalism isn't an ideology.

It's just a bunch of tactics for scenarios.

There is no cognitive dissonance because it's all detached.

You can survive almost any amount of cognitive dissonance if maintaining said dissonance justifies a socially and materially privileged position you enjoy.

Doesn't everyone know? Politicians in America are bound by law to follow the demands of their constituents and face a vote of nonconfidence if they fail to do so. What do you think this is, Cuba?
