Today I heard people talk about race like "I identify as white" and almost started laughing :lmayo:
In general, whats going on with stuff like sensitivity training, diversity, and all that shit. Obviously this isn't a pressing issue, but Im interested in what this means in the grand scheme of things.
As liberalism ran out of steam, it became a pure reaction to fascism. They can only try to invert it or respond to it, inadequately. Capitalists do capitalism and liberals make up excuses for why it sucks. Try doing that for a few decades and see if you can count your brainworms.
That probably explains a lot of liberals. They aren't self-aware enough to see that they are reactionary parasites themselves, and as they see capitalist society crumbling they come up with ways to fix it without compromising their own positions in the social hierarchy within capitalism.
But also, I feel like there are other reasons relating to consumerism. Something something postmodernism. Can't put my finger on it atm though.
If everything else about your identity is expressed through individual mix-and-match (consumption) choices, why wouldn't race be?
Though I'm ready to assume they have good intentions and don't realize that race and gender are different things so they apply superficial trans logic to race (but this type of logic is undoubtedly inspired by reactionary attack helicopter memes, just inverted).
