I took too long to recognize that your sentence was directed towards me to actually understand what the beginning of the sentence was. Please try again and I should* be able to piece together the whole sentence within a few words

Mood, but then my "oh damn guess something's up" moment was when I discovered how much more enjoyable TV and movies got with closed captions, since I was actually able to catch everything being said and other subtle sound effects

That said, I discovered recently that mobile phone quality (assuming decent signal) is better than what we were getting over copper wire POTS, so there's that, for whatever it's worth.

I was just thinking about how i really have to be actively ready to hear people, but it’s exhausting and i shut that off frequently. Luckily i dont interact with a lot of people for work very much.
Them: Getting uncomfortable as I stare intensly at their face two seconds longer than necessary after answering their question...
Me: Staring intently at their face for two seconds longer than necessary hoping I've given a reasonably expected answer to their question...
