You wouldn't even see a convention bounce this early.

the problem was not that the virtual Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin didn’t move the needle for the Democrats and their ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris – it’s that it somehow managed to jolt the public opinion in favor of Trump!

I like the use of the word “somehow” as if it’s surprising or difficult to believe that the Democrats would trip over their own dicks.

I’m increasingly thinking that a big reason they hate Russian media is it has no horse in the race, so it isn’t afraid to say the emperor has no clothes.

Well, they hate any messenger that is undermining the neoliberal, American narrative. But Russia in particular is a big target because its a convienent scapegoat for helping Trump win. American media, although very much guilty, can't admit responsibility for it, and blaming anyone domestically makes enemies, so Russia is the perfect target.

Anything that goes against neoliberalism has to be from Russia or China, because they are "communist", they are enemies, and they are mysterious - but most importantly, the USA has never "conquered" them, like they have every other "enemy" country on Earth.

Serious question for someone who knows about conventions. Are they normally all about coronating personalities without substance? Or do they sometimes rally people around ideas, and an agenda? It seems really lackluster because they specifically avoided anyone who might advocate a progressive agenda.

It reminds me of the Oscars. Lots of outfits, video clips, music and speeches. And no politics allowed.

A convention is like a school graduation. It's not meant to be the kickoff to something, it represents the conclusion of a process. The primaries are over, the loose ends have been tied off, everyone makes nice (in public), and they all go forward off to their respective roles in the general election. It's not meant to be controversial or inspiring, it's meant to be un controversial and reassuring. They just want to get it over with so they can get back to losing the general.

Russian propaganda and fake news, queen Maddow has told me you can't listen to the russians, their slavic nature makes them untrustworthy, and Putin has already time traveled once to bring trump into office, he'll do it again.

Wouldn't be surprised if they get a negative bounce but Rasmussen is utter trash. There's no chance in hell Trump's approval rating is 51% at the moment.

Lol, this is before the GOP paints Biden as a pedophile to all the suburbs of America too.
