Zizek was recently banned from speaking in the "Conference on Zizek's Philosophy and Thought" hosted in Nanjing University. The linked article is supposedly the speech that he submitted for that event.

Three person were banned from Zizek’s Conference. Person 1: “They said it’s because I supported Zizek.” Person 2: “They said it’s because I opposed Zizek.” Person 3: “Because I am Zizek.”

Mao speaks about disorder UNDER heaven, wherein “heaven,” or the big Other in whatever form—the inexorable logic of historical processes, the laws of social development—still exists and discreetly regulates social chaos. Today, we should talk about HEAVEN ITSELF as being in disorder. What do I mean by this?

writing in all caps like some lowly poster :07:

When I read that one of the measures lately imposed by the Chinese government is the prohibition of “996”, I must admit my first association was a sexual one: “69” means in our slang the position in which man performs on the woman cunnilingus and woman on the man fellatio,

    :volcel-judge:

Chinese diplomat Wang Zhen wrote that “the disastrous impact of a ‘chaotic Hong Kong’ has begun to influence the Western world,” i.e., that demonstrators in Chile and Spain were taking their cues from Hong Kong.

If this is a high level communist party member doing this trash analysis, sorry but we hate to see it

What if, however, it is exactly the opposite that is the case?

    He said the line! :turtle-pogger:

Communists who have no illusions, who do not give way to despondency, and who preserve their strength and flexibility ‘to begin from the beginning’ over and over again in approaching an extremely difficult task, are not doomed (and in all probability will not perish).

    Bloomer Lenin :bloomer:

Just playing this thought out, it's not necessarily my actual view but an interesting experiment:

Will capitalism ultimately be just a passage from lower to higher stage of feudalism or will it be a passage from feudalism to socialism.

Taking this to its logical conclusion (assuming we don't climate kill ourselves before it plays out further and further) then I would surmise that higher stage feudalism would again eventually culminate in revolutions the same way lower stage feudalism culminated in the revolutions that brought about capitalism.

What would higher stage feudalism revolutions against the modern neo-feudal rulers of these corporate giants look like?

He ends up kind of landing on "China made mistakes and then retreated a bit from their initial victories - but don't confuse that with failure, and don't confuse the heights they've reached with victory, since the revolutionary process by its nature requires a lot of failing and starting over", and as the other poster said that's just one aspect of the piece.

      It's a good read.

Dare to think a little more complexly. This is really broader than China. And if any criticism of China is permissible, this is a great example of exploring where its policy and actions fit within the engine of history and what they might produce.

No, and surprisingly clear and to the point given that it's Žižek. I found it very interesting, with good ideas to explore
