    low taxes + cheaper to live in

    although it's being talked about way more now, the migration really started like 15 years ago lol

    e: now the prices are increasing so much it isn't even that much cheaper to live in Austin short-term(great long term bc no state tax). Now everyone just lives in roundrock and commutes, and the prices there are also exploding

        Then they were wrong. Austin in 2007 wasn't even close to what it is now. East 6th Street was still a working class neighborhood instead of a giant block of condos, for instance.
