I wonder why so many of them are lonely and why some have to become sex tourists to get laid? :thinking-about-it:

What the fuck has love got to do with money?

I get the feeling a lot of these people are sociopaths that don't understand human connection.

Imagine being like "Hmm yeah I don't have friends, too much on an investment."

    People would be like "Huh?"

I've gone to class with, roomed with, and worked with self-described libertarians.

A common thing most of them said was "relationships are just transactions," usually to justify the abuses and failures in their own relationships.

Yep, it was the same energy as the "love is just chemicals" meme that Rick and Morty started.

The people who argue that relationships are just transactions, are the same people who get mad at women for rejecting them, even after they did X amount of "nice" things for them.

well yes because they think they were cheated in a transaction the fact that it would be plainly ridiculous to say you are owed from a transaction the other person did not agree to or know about in any other sphere of life is irrelevant here

Reminds me of the PUA types who describe sex as a "transaction of power". If you think about it like that it's no wonder you don't get any pleasure from it.

It's Boomer pop-sexism that's been copied and pasted so many times that the veneer has rubbed off. None of these "marriage is expensive because divorce arguments" ever run the numbers on how much money you save by being in a relationship, it's just about "damn broad is gonna take half my money because she had her period!"

Isn't this just the incel-larvae state? The dumbass in the OP is making the exact same argument that incels often make, only he doesnt actually sound like he has hardened into a raging misogynist yet.

I mean, neither libertarians nor incels particularly value women as people, by as far as I know, only one of them want to do sex slavery supported by direct physical violence. The Libertarian worldview doesn't really require women to be a lower caste than men, just for economic conditions to worsen so that prostitution is the only way to avoid starving to death.

I mean tbh libertarians don't value people as people but tools for use. Under libertarian/capitalist thought sex is to be commodified and one who cannot obtain it isn't unable to obtain because they have something wrong in how they interact with partners/people it's that they don't have enough power to coerce sex from those individuals. Just peeps wanting to be petite fash and abuse a "trad wife".

so that prostitution is the only way to avoid starving to death.

Which requires the view that women can't compete in the labour market

The concept of a labour market is built on that some won't be able to compete. 100% employment isn't something that capitalism provides. You need a desperate underclass.

I think most ancaps are aware that there will be a desperate underclass, just that they think that is a good thing (survival of the fittest etc). Your mileage with them may vary though.

Well you can provide it for a short period of time. Then you get the capital strikes and it all goes south

or you could, you know, not spend 20k on a wedding and marry someone nice

also true love naturally is just communal sharing of resources. really makes you think :soviet-heart:

The "love is just chemicals therefore it is meaningless" and "all relationships are transactional" bazinga brains tend to be quite lonely, and deserve it.

im kinda glad they're lonely cause the alternative is someone having to spend time with them

I saw a thread on another website about what people spent on engagement rings and more than half said something over $5000. I was flabbergasted. I got my wife a nice custom non-diamond ring on Etsy for $150 and that included the band!

or you could, you know, not spend 20k on a wedding and marry someone nice

The wedding industry is a scam and I will never suggest I couldn't have done things cheaper.

But sometimes you just want to throw a big party and invite every last friend and family member you know to celebrate a big life event, and if you've got spare cash to do it... YOLO.

If someone told me they'd trade my wedding day for an equivalently valued stock of bitcoins from 2014, I'd still probably say "Fuck bitcoin its a scam, I'd rather have this beautiful moment with my loved ones instead".

also true love naturally is just communal sharing of resources.

Communal sharing of resources is a thing you do with loved ones. But I think true love is a sign that you just want to spend time with one another. You don't need to have a penny to share in order to feel love.
