Games Workshop had to release a press statement at a certain point telling the community that they don't support Nazis playing their games like Warhammer 40k because Arch(Going by Arch Warhammer at the time) was such an overt racist.
iirc they'd already sent him a cease and desist letter about him using the warhammer brand in his name before the press statement and mentioning him on r/warhammerlore was already banned and meant your comment would be automatically deleted.
A while after the press statement a 16GB file of screenshots from his discord was released publicly (in which he praises fascism, advocates for lynching gypsies and defends the creation of actual real child porn) which proved to be the breaking point which lead to him being completely disavowed by even the naivest of liberals in the community.
He was later hired to do advertising for some shitty hentai game, after just a day or so the hentai game team proceeded to make a public announcement on their website stating that they had been unaware that he was a nazi and were cancelling the contract and formally asked him not to do anymore playthroughs on his channel of the game even though they'd already paid him most of the money.
also the head moderator of his subreddit got so tired of moderating all the bigoted stuff from crypto-fascists on the sub that he banned the rest of the moderator team, gave the moderators of r/sigmarxism (the main far left warhammer subreddit) all the moderator privileges then stepped down as moderator. Basically the entire sub got raided at the highest level with marxist shitposting and was later converted into a subreddit for admiring the custom arches and other custom terrain made for warhammer
I've probably forgotten a ton of stuff too because I only became properly aware of arch towards the end of his hilarious saga of getting clowned on by everyone in the community (mainly the r/sigmarxism getting shit done)

The struggle session genuinely went on for weeks and was fucking hilarious. Essentially we just watched as liberals gave him more and more rope as his fans made up more excuses for why he did what he did only for him to metaphorically hang himself with it by first making patently obvious lies to claim he didn't say any of it, only for him to turn around and delete the discord but then say "and even if I did say any of that I don't think I should have to suffer any repercussions for it because muh free speach"
The only thing these internet weirdos deserve is to be publicly mocked by devs, actors and directors when their content becomes successful like Simu Liu did with reactionary losers on youtube.

that's the common perception among western audiences because westerners assume a white default for characters while japanese audiences assume a japanese default. for a character to read as "japanese" to a westerner they have to basically have slit eyes, and for a character to read as white to a japanese person they have to have a triangle nose. sure maybe some of it can be blamed on the US cultural hegemony's effect on character design but I think way more of it has to do with viewer expectations.
It gets kinda tricky when you're talking about stylised characters though. Can you really say Western cartoons are an accurate depiction of the occidental skull shape or are you just filling those blanks in yourself?
In the Gamecube Resident Evil games, Rebecca Chambers' facial model was the Japanese pop musician Ayumi Hamasaki, and she just looks kind of generically anime.
They're not going for accurate representations of racial phenotypes in these semi-anime styled games. Would you call these doll people especially real looking representations of white people?
If anything, these semi-realistic anime games tend to look very racially ambiguous to me. Just look at what Barrett looks like
My point is that this specific kind of (very common) art style has its roots in anime, which is very stylised and not especially realistic, and when you start from that and try to build realistic high definition 3d models out of that, you end up in a weird uncanny valley. I'm reminded of the Miyazaki quote about most Japanese anime being made by people who can't stand to look at real humans.

I find it kind of iffy to look at a product of another culture and just simplify it down to "Ahh, clearly they're trying to look more like ME". That's just the most common airbrushed anime style though, there are other styles out there- Lost Odyssey (if anyone remembers that game), for example, had a different -yet still stylised- take on its characters.
All of this is not to say that Japanese/Korean media doesn't have problems with racial representation or that the guy depicted in the OP isn't a massive asshole though

Lost Ark is a Korean MMO that is about as terrible as every other Korean MMO. There's posts on here describing it, it's pretty grim.
The Amazon MMO is New World, which I remember was released in kind of a rough state but seems like a totally generic WoW clone.
I have no idea what the appeal is for either game.
