Previous megathreads:
What the hell happened with the shelling of this nuclear plant?
It was overblown.
It was a single stray rpg from the Ukrainians. Russians went in at night with spec ops and rifles
So a stray rpg from the Ukrainians hit a nuclear power plant and then the Russians took control of it later that night? Are those two things unrelated?
They were fighting in the admin/office building 100 meters outside the facility, which is blast shielded. It was this ancillary building that caught on fire nothing essential to operations.
Timeline is:
Ukrainian Army getting destroyed in Energodar retreats into the nuclear plant and begins firing out at the Russians.
Russians wait until night and send in special ops to clear out the area without explosives. Ukraine opens fire on them with javelins and rpgs
Fire starts and Ukraine officials lie and say meltdown is imminent, no-fly zone needed
Russians seize control of the plant and power plant officials confirm all systems are ok
Do you have a source for this? Ideally a lib-friendly one.
I’ve made several claims so which part specifically?
Even WaPo and US state department had to shut down the UKR officials who said nuclear meltdown was happening - https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/03/04/russia-ukraine-war-putin-news/#link-ZRSEFRY6KNHFJGNAGTTYTKMIK4
The rest I watched on a livestream cam of the plant. I saw the Russians roll up and not shoot anything, and I saw RPG fire coming out of the office building and then an explosion/fire inside the office building. It’s not entirely clear what happened here the live cam was low quality and it was night.
Are you asserting that backblast from a Ukranian MANPAT caused the fire inside the office building?
I’m saying that the Russians didn’t shoot anything on the stream. It may have been a shell but I have a hard time believing Russians would shell their own spec ops guys in a nuclear facility, but only one single time
This part specifically.
it hit a tiny office building in a massive and sprawling complex, everything is chill
