    Saw this video about industrial looms that shows how complex they get. Like you said though, this was being asked for.

    Doing it the old fashioned way is really appealing, experimenting with blends, synthetic/organic materials, different colors and designs etc, but I simply don't have the patience to work on a dish towel for 8 hours (maybe when I'm a senior citizen idk).

    For those curious like I was, a full size loom like that runs about US$3500, but a lot of knitting clubs and such places will have access to one.

      It’s like the US selling all its selvedge denim looms to Japan after the war. Now Selvedge denim mostly comes from Japan. And the quality and craftsmanship is amazing and vastly superior to the cheap jeans made today in the States, which isn’t really it’s made elsewhere.

      I love selvedge denim and own a few pairs and they’re expensive but makes you think that if we held on to those looms and improved the production process, today we could’ve had good quality affordable jeans
