Just keeping it warm bombs get cranky when they’re cold

    yea, this is weird.

Even if you say "there are reasons to hide the type of bomb", it's still clearly discernible what type of bomb it is to any military enthusiast. So like, apparently they cared enough to cover up the logo on the side, but still felt comfy broadcasting it to hundreds of millions of people.

it's to spit in the face of people who know better

it's to say "look at how little effort we need to exert to get everyone on our side. look at how transparent our lies are, yet people still believe us. You should feel demoralized and defeated by this and give up any hopes of changing the world"

Your title is obviously sarcastic but I'm not sure I understand the intended implication. Is the cloth some sort of evidence that this is staged or something?

I don't know if this is accurate or not but I read that they're hiding the serial number because it would indicate which bomb was supposed to have denoted that didn't.

Could be bs though, I'd assume Russia knows if they hit a target or not.

Seems like a pretty obvious explanation to me. Why give an enemy more information than you have to?

It’s bullshit. We can tell where things didn’t explode by flying a fucking drone over a city. Fucking Americans…

Yeah but just a Russian bomb in a field would give them less information than a bomb with a serial number that might be linked to a specific target that could end up getting bombed again. I have no idea if that would actually make a difference or not or if that's the actual reason they covered the bomb with a cloth.

fediverse handles typically have the host server after a second @ sign

this specifically is from a rightoid mastodon instance :/. there's not much room in this specific case for manipulation or misrepresentation, but i think we should be more wary of sharing dunks from chuds just because we happen to agree with them.

That’s curious. I take better care of my bombs than whatever Ukrainian potato they dug up here.
