      yeah but in russia before and after that if you were openly gay the police would murder you so it was practically illegal anyway

        God damn. Must suck to live in a country where police can murder you for any reason or no reason at all. Really hope one day Russians ban together, overthrow their tyrannical government, and replace it with an egalitarian popular alternative that values human liberty over a totalitarian police state prefaced on economic growth.

          I can also think of at least one other prominent world power where the police murder with impunity and which is in need of revolution.
